An enormous green lotus seed-pod rises on a thick stalk to dominate the canvas, its ring of glossy blue seeds swollen to a monstrous scale. Below, along the base of a deep slate-blue ground, seven small zebu graze, stand and lie in miniature, dwarfed by the towering pod.
The reversal of scale turns a quiet botanical study surreal: the cattle, each carefully observed, shrink to grazing specks beneath a single seed head. The image reads as a fable about a shrinking commons, the animals made small and incidental while the fruiting plant looms, beautiful and indifferent, over their bare blue plain.
