Speckled Pad, Single Drop

A green pad, freckled all over with orange and rust speckles, fills the left of this small panel and meets a flat wash of dark navy at its scalloped edge. The radiating veins fan out from a point just off the picture.

Several teardrop beads of water sit on the leaf, one swelling into a small photoreal lens near the top, catching light like glass. The intense, textured surface of the leaf plays against the calm emptiness of the blue ground.
